T.K. Ramachandran vocal
Serthalai Mirudhangam
T.R. Sundaresan Violin

Vinayaka vegavahini MD
RTP & thani shanmuka priya saravana babva guhane Adhi 2 kalai one first beat
parulanamata Jawali Hindustan Kapi Dharumapuri

The concert started exactly by 17 00 hrs. After the concert Dr. BMS gave a lecture for 15 min on Jaya Chamraja udayar. Few interesting points on this vaggeyakara.are as follows.
1. Samasthanams of Thanjavur, Mysore and Thiruvananthapuram only were nurturing CM
2. As regards to Swathi thirunal there was a controversy over his scholarship whether he was a genuine vaggeyakara or not. Later it was accepted after thorough research of his kritis.
3. After Tippu's fall, in 1791 Krishna Raya udayar occupied the throne.
4. He was a scholar himself and promoted artistes.
5. It was Mysore samasthanam that encouraged Chinniah of Thanjavur quartet.
6. Panchamiyam Ahiyappa also was taken care.
7. Mysore Sadasiva Rao was from a village called Thiruvalam near chennai and he comes out of the sishya parampara of Thyagaraja [ Venkataramana bhagavathar]
8. HMB was also asthana vidwan of Mysore and Kerala.
9. As far as Tamilnadu is considered its contribution in promoting CM vidwans was nil in those days.
10. Especially during the period of Serfoji 2, no record shows regarding his contribution for promoting CM and vidwans. While scrutinising a bunch of palm leaves of pay rolls of thanjavur palace it was found that sizable amount was spent on English men's services only and nothing for this cause. An amount of Rs 200/= is given as pension to present king, out which he has to pay Rs 50/= as rent for the palace.
11. Because of this, on displeasure one of the thanjai quartet went to thiruvananthapuram and one to Mysore.
12. The last King/ 25th 'pattam' was Jayachamaraja Udayar and was born on 18 7 1919 . He came to power on 8th sep1940. He was a Raj pramukh / Governor [ for tamilnadu also.]
13. He was a good academician with lot of degrees from different universities and with vast knowledge in sanskrit.
14. Initially he learnt western music viz Piano from sister ignatious He has also got a diploma In Tirinity Institute.
15. .He has written a book on Geetha and Indian culture.
16 . For his marriage Vidwans and Vidushis from Tamilnadu assembled at Mysore.
17. Mysore Vasudevachar was his guru. His kritis in Hamsavinodhini and Janya samvardhini a janya of soorya kantham are praise worthy.
18 Mysore Vasudevachar 's guru was Chennai Kesaviah a srividhya upasakar.
19. His first kriti was on 17 08 1945 Sri Mahaganapathi in Atana
20. He has composed more than 95 krits and in 75 kritis the raga mudhra is included.
21. He got his Ph d degree too and was a great scholar in sanskrit.
22. He died on 23 08 1974

This was followed by M.S. Sheela's concert accompanied by V. Sanjee and H.S. Sudhendra featuring Chamaraja Udayar's kritis . First kriti was Srimaha ganapathi in Atana. I could not stay till the end due to heavy rain. In general both performances were good with very poor attendance . Only 20 rasikas were present and later increased to 40. The main VIPs were TKG, Kirans' father and Dr. Narmadha. IMHO rasikas are in a dilemma to decide to which sabha they should attend in the floods of progms on various locations. This will further aggravate , immediately after the inauguration of MA. and Parthasarathi swamy sabha.

Dear  thanjavooran, the composer's name is Jayachamaraja Wodeyar and not udayar. Also in point 18, it is mentioned that "Mysore Vasudevachar 's guru was Chennai Kesaviah a srividhya upasakar" But is the other way round. Chenna Keshavaiah was the disciple of Mysore Vasudevachar. Mysore Vasudevachar's guru was Pattinam Subramania Iyer. He also learnt under Veena Sheshanna, Veena Shamanna & Veena Padmanabhaiah
