RG's music has quality. We gather from Kedharam's reviews that he is a music enthusiast. His reviews are mostly positive (so, not like those of the professionals). Kedharam's enthusiasm bubbles forth in what he writes and while there was ambiguity about those expressions, I took it to be a positive review. As he said, after long hours of listening, he typed the review in a half-asleep state perhaps, and so it contained those hazy expressions.
I think rasikA reviewers have bundant enthusiasm for the music they hear while understandably it may not be there in a die-hard professional. After all, we are amateurs (lovers) of the arts and evidently, Kedharam is one.
Kedharam, would like to read more of your reviews...

May be it is poetry and you are using the wrong yard scale... Please let the man write! I am sure his writing is enjoyed by as many as yours.srinivasrgvn wrote:Your sentences are literally incorrect. Please use words that people can understand! We are reading reviews and not Francis Bacon's essays! =)

Why delete? Instead you should go back and discover what you were trying to say and may be make it clearer...kedharam wrote:all i meant was that for this beautiful music, there were hardly 30 listeners...it was around 11 in the night after a full day of music when i posted...sorry for the confusion...will delete my post.

We need a more welcoming atmosphere for reviewers especially newer ones. Questions/ criticisms can be put in milder language. Comparisons with SVK can be mentioned with multiple smileys. (I know that one was in jest
/ friendly in tone). Questions like 'why did you enjoy a particular piece, don't you know it is a dumb raga with zilch scope for elaboration' are best discussed in specialised IM (I here stands for Intellectual) sessions dedicated to that raga rather than aimed as attacks on the poor reviewer.

Good! A rAgam-reviewer asking another to come back. You both are very good--and I see an addition to rAgam-named reviewers--aDana!
We miss Vijay. We miss not reading many reviews when Chennai is swinging. Please, bring us more reviews. sridhar_rang is right. Let's not be harsh about them. Just as performers are different, reviewers are too. That's what makes it interesting. Let's welcome more of them and of 'impression'ists too. Several rasikAs who can write about their concert experience have converged in Chennai from other parts of India and from elsewhere.
Though I don't write reviews, I love to read them. I bet there are many more like me on the forum.
