numtv.com has all packages for jaya tv. $16 package has most bang for buck and has archives too. I usually subscribe around dec 15 when telecast starts. numtv is owned by pentamedia and has ties with cable channels.

Jaya TV's broadcast is not bad but its nothing close to being there for a kutchery. Whenever possible they show the lighter pieces of the concert....why cant they show a main song in two sections?
Still i can understand where you are coming from...it definitely is nice to have some video footage once in a while :D
I have mentioned this before but the people who used to upload the videos on youtube seem to have taken a vacation :(

Jaya TV's Margazhi mahOtsavam concerts are to broadcast Dec 15-30,2009, I understand. As such I have subscribed to Jaya TV for a month through DISH TV here in the US. I hope it is worthwhile, even though the concert program is only for one hour per day.

To record from TV, you need a video capture card and a capture software (such as Windows Moview Maker) The audio and video out of TV will go to this capture card.

Then capture the audio and video into AVI or MPEG format using the software.

Then the AVI/MPEG has to be split into pieces of 10 mins each (as Youtube does not allow any clip more than 10 mins) and uploaded to youtube/ This will require a AVI/MPEG splitter

My information from The Hindu Friday edition(Friday review under TV section at the bottom of the page) is that the telecast of selected portions will commence from Dec 15 at 6:30 am local IST time. I figure that rebroadcast in the U.S will be 6:30 am Central time from Dec 15 till Jan 13, I believe.

Dish network shows the following daily morning schedule for Jaya TV for Central Time.

4:00 AM Devotional
4:30 AM Suprabatham
5:00 AM Arul Neram
5:30 AM Dinam Oru Divyanamam
5:45 AM Good Morning Tamila
6:00 AM News
6:30 AM Good Morning Tamila
7:30 AM Fresh Ticket
7:55 AM News
8:00 AM Thenkinnam
9:00 AM Sange Mulangu
etc.

So you can match up with India time for the same programs and figure the offset.

That could be the case but then if it was wouldnt jaya tv ask them to remove the videos? :S
I tried emailing the uploaders via youtube but have got no reply :(
If they are reading this i urge them to upload more carnatic videos :D

I guess the "Good morning Tamizha" will be replaced by the Music program between 6:30 and 7:30 am. We will know tomorow morning ! It is too early for me, so I will set up the DVR for the time slot. I doubt about copyright issue, once the program is broadcast over the air; afterall so many of the You Tube uploads are from Jaya TV, Podigai TV and other TV braodcasts!

I guess the HINDU information is wrong. This morning I did not get the music program in Jaya TV. It should be only in the evening slot, 6:30 p.m Central time and not a.m. This evening schedule for Jaya TV in US shows "innisai" only in the evening. Let us give it a try this evening.

There is also a Sangeetha sangamam in Vijay TV. I listened to the last few minutes when it was almost closing where Sikkil Gurucharan
was singing Surutti song and the curtains were closing down. It finished at 6PM.

Happened to see the episode of Malladi brothers.

The program is very much edited. Started with Bala ganaga, then Alakalala, then mayamalagowla, AB..
The main was Bilahari (kanukondini) krithi with only swarams. Giripai started so great ended with
just pallavi rendition and the final ragamalika shown fully. Some more songs which I cannot recollect.

He answered an interesting question for paamara rasika attraction to concert:
Everyone should come with -open mind-. And said knowledgeable ones come to 'judge' the quality
of music (in a more positive way , I am writing). And the singer should not compromise the
level of music for rasika and should try to uplift the rasikas listeneing experience.

On a humerous note of what kind of social revolution (samooga puratchi) they would do, both
answered on a humourous note that 1. stab a politician 2. get back kohinoor.
But their music was so conventional and with their own style, the editing makes you
look for those renditions of these brothers.

Finally I didnot get the theme of the concert, I missed the first few minutes I guess.

Today's broadcast of Malladi Brothers" concert here in the U.S. was interrupted several times by "Technical Difficulties" and I could listen only to three songs or so. This "technical" problem did not happen all day when all other silly programs were in progress ! It was announced that tomorrow's program will be "Priya Sisters". Today's concert's theme was "sAkshAtkAra krithies of the trinities, Sadhasiva BrahmEndra and AnnamAchArya" I do hope that the forthcoming programs will get better broadcast; otherwise my subscription to Jaya T.V, will become a waste of money!

They handed out a telecast schedule at the MMU. I will try and post it a bit later. Here, in Chennai, Jaya TV broadcasts the music between 6 and 7 pm and 6:30 to 7:00 in the morning.

The recordings of MM are being uploaded to You tube every year by couple of folks. I was looking for it late last night. Pieces of Malladi bros concerts are already uploaded. I stayed up to watch at mid-night eastern. Please check the uploads from two you tube users under the following names KamamotiSankara and Carnaticopia. Both of them are doing a great service for all of us.

Yup, the broadcast freezes occasionally. It looks like they are still working out the kinks. I do not quite understand why only the Jaya TV channel on Dish Network encounters this problem.

BTW, the broadcast times in the U.S. are 6:30 to 7:00 A.M EST and 6 to 7 P.M. EST.

Both Jaya and Sun TV's in the US do not follow the time schedules posted. Many times the programs start several minutes early and also run past the scheduled time slot. Many programs have no relationship to the calender ! Today's Priya sisters' program was uninterrupted, though started a few minutes earlier. I liked their last Karaharapriya piece in Tamil. Their Tamil pronunciation has improved a lot since I heard them last. Look forward to tomorrows broadcast of Vijay Siva's program.

There was some calmness in their singing and the pace was quite unhurried. The bhajan type song was well sung but it was the second song of the broadcast. It sounded like a thukkada ( they sang that piece well no doubt ). It may be just the Jaya TV editing.

Sundara Rajan, one question. I was distracted with other things during that hour. Before the kharaharapriya song, I thought I heard a viruththam'ish prelude which sounded like Shanmukhapriya. Was it really that or am I just imagining? A little later when I got back to listening with full attention they were singing the kharahapriya krithi.

Vasanthakokilam: You are correct. The tamil virutham "thAyinum sAlapparinthu" of vaLLalAr was presented in shanmukapriyA followed by Neelakanta Sivan's "navasidhi petrAlum" in karaharapriya. That is the one I was referring to their tamil pronunciation that was quite good except for one small slip of "madhiani" instead of "madhiaNI', which can be forgiven. I wonder how many mistakes in telugu compositions our tamil singers make! I do know sanskrit compositions are butchered by many !
Earlier the sisters presented a sanskrit slokam "Ananda rUpE,nija bhodarUpE---" in mOhanam, bAghEsri and hindOLam followed by annamAcharya's composition in telugu. Finally they sang a new tamil composition very similar to rAjAji's "kurai omRum illai" in sivaranajni. I look forward to today's Vijay Siva concert excerpts that may start a few minutes before 6:00 p.m.

Thanks Sundara Rajan.

The morning half an hour program seems to be just an abridged version of the hour long program from the previous evening.
