This was an incredible concert by a 91 year old man accompanied by his 60 year old son. RKS has a thin voice but conforms to sruthi minutely even at this age. His son was shadowing him and morphing into his voice without the listener being able to make out immediately. His sruthi was a little less minute than his father's but this was because of his sense of anxiety and urgency. Umayalpuram gave an excellent thani cuddling karthik a little bit and overpowering him. Karthik had no issues of course.
Ravikiran played a typical pakka vadyam in a subdued way probably because of his regard for RKS. His was a true accompaniment probably because he was reserving his full potential for his solo elsewhere. (KATTRARAI KATTRARE KAMURUVAR). His hindolam and chakravaagam were neat and simple.
Some people were shifting to the back seats because they could not stand the decibels in the front row. It's high time umayalpuram and Trichy Sankaran schools reconsidered their mike volumes.
Overall a satisfying concert.

Yes, excellent in all respects. My family and I enjoyed every minute of it, and didn't know who to watch and admire. Sri. RKS' voice was unbelievably strong. Wow!

Only complaint is the venue itself. The sound system and the seats have a lot of room for improvement. It sometimes seems like any ad hoc venue in Chennai is okay to have a concert in!
