It was a great concert. I had sent him an email beforehand, requesting him to sing an RTP in Malayamarutham. It was very nice of him to accept my request and sing it. The neraval and swaram in Entha Para (i think that's the name of the song) were fantastic! Kalyani Alapanai was great as well. I've never heard Saramati as the main raga in any concert before, but it was quite enjoyable. Swaram in particular was quite a pleasure listening to.

Malayamarutham alapanai was a bit short, but that was probably because of the time constrains. Tanam was great, esp the Nalinakanthi tanam. Swaram in the pallavi was also very nice. At the end, he went back through all the three ragas in reverse order, which was quite impressive.

I thoroughly enjoyed this concert. The RTP was my pic, since it was in one of my fav ragams. I hope to attend more of Gurucharan's concerts this season.

Hi abhi62_v,

Thanks for the post .

I think the Song no.2 is Intha Parakka - mayamalavagowla - Tyagaraja
No.3. Vinatha Suta Vahana - Jayantasena not Jayanthaseva.
No.12 is Shapasyat kousalya by Panchapakesa Iyer in Jonpuri.

Regards,

I think Item no.2 is Inta Paraka - Mayamalavagowla - Rupakam by Anai Ayya composed on Lord Shiva (if I remember correctly)

Semmangudi renders it in his 80th Birthday concert at Music Academy.

Item no.4 is Kanden Kali Theerthen by Gopalakrishna Bharati.

Re. Item no.3 Jayantasena.. was swarams rendered at 'Matha Bedhamane'...

Malayamarutham RTP.... never heard from anyone.
I noticed He sings purvikalyani in many concerts. Here it is missing.
On a different note, gurucharan is getting married. congratulation.
