Simply superb! Glad that I gave up TM Krishna @ MFAC for this one. The brothers hit one out of the ground totally and deserved the standing ovation at the end.

I too hope this concert comes out as a CD. Would be a concert to revisit many a times.
Total absence of any major 6 but still an immensely satisfying concert it was. And nasikabhooshani was a comparative let down in otherwise great pieces.
Embar Kannan was in full form totally and elicited a list of bale's from the brothers. No screeching noises but sweet nadam throughout. I felt his sahana and tanams were great.
Tani was also very good and provided some aurally interesting patterns. Not an expert there to discern what was good though

entha vEduko- Saraswati Manohari
Kandarba Janaka- Kalavathy-Annamacharya. (I had uploaded this song in our "lyrics" session long back and sri. Laxman has given the lyrics too)
Urage galguna- sung by Maharajapuram Santhanam in a commercial release (yesteryears). Of course, it has not been sung by any one. Malladi, as always, renders new kritis. That is the best part of them
Today's concert also no Syama Sastri kriti..
RTP - Janaranjani (not sri)-they wanted to sing this raga since the "words" were taken out from the song of that kriti by MD. Kanada, Rageshree, Amir Kalyan and Surutti.
Nasikabhooshani was a let down. As RTP you do not have anything in this raga for more than 3 minutes. It might go to vagadheeshwarai, Vachaspathi etc., They had to be careful in "traversing"
in the same raga which was very difficult. In this process, the sukham was missing.
As they did Bairavi (NGS) or Ritigowla (MA), they could have taken a heavy weight raga. Moreover, they took Sahana as the main, I expected some better raga for RTP.
Last year December, the same venue with the same team (TS and EK), they rendered a scintillating Charukesi RTP and Mukhari Main (Kshhenamai). Sri.Vijay (who is missing here in this season) considered this RTP one of the best he heard....
Having said in Sahana, Ravikumar brought the full emotions. Very well rendered.
