A typical Sanjay concert except for a missing begada varnam or a piece like anudinamu or vallaba.

It is a pity that I missed this concert as I was out of town last week (Just came back on Sunday not to miss his Vidya Bharathi Concert for Partha sabha). I had raised a request to Sanjay at the Brahma Gana Sabha concert for a Sahana RTP during the season and the master did say "Adhukkena Paadina Pochu...". (Refer to my earlier post about the Brahma Gana Sabha concert). And well the MASTER did oblige at Kalarasna and a pity that I missed it. There is one more ragam request pending from the MASTER and let us see :-)

MDR Balaji Sir,

Sanjay sang the Sindhubhiravi composition of your father in the same style. Normally in all the kritis authored by Shri.MDR, the mudhra Varadadasa used to be there, could not identify the samer in this kriti. Would you like to enlighten us more on this, please? Thanks

I guess "Uppum Karpuramum" & "Innamum Oru thalam" kriti's composer is Marimuthapillai (one of the famous Tamil Trinity).

There is a AIR recording of MDR of his own sindhubhairavi composition. However, the announcement says "composition of varadadasa"!

Rsrini, if I remember earlier discussions on this forum correctly, MDR's sindhu bhairavi krithi is one of two (or perhaps three) compositions which do not contain his mudra.

I attended the kalarasana concert and it was simply awesome concert from start to the end. What a great aberi and scintilating sahana RTP. It had everything. I am sure this concert would probably rank as the best concert in the entire season. The accompaniments were also equal to the occasion. Would anyone have a recording of this

For people who heard this concert, what rank would you give to concert compared to others you heard.
I heard Sudha in Krishna Gana Sabha, TMK, Aruna Sairam, Nityashri in MA but the Sanjay Kalarasana one simply stood tall.

Charsur will pick and chose b/w 2 or 3 Sanjay concerts. So if the overall opinion is that Kalarasna is the best, I then hope we get this magical Sahana on CD. Sanjay and Sahana is always special. His "Tillai Amabalattanai...." in the TILLAI CD is pure bliss.

Two years back I overdosed on sahana with too many mp3s and albums. And hence it is currently not my fav. And he had one more
sahana in 'live from melbourne' album shri kamalambihayam. yes his aberi is something new for me. And charsur will have to get in agreement with sabha also. So MA concert is not likely to be an album.
