I was hearing Malladi brothers live for the first time. I really enjoyed it.

For me the Bhairavi varnam Viribhoni set the tone for the concert. Pallavi, anupallavi and chittaswaram were sung in two kalams. As usual charanam was done in second kalam. The way they sung it I though for a moment they might go for two kalas in charanam also (like MDR). last swara in the charanam was sung two times. Vasantha was good followed by a song I have not heard before and they themselves told this is composed by some (????) krishnamacharya (vijayawada sanskrit scholar...I could not hear it properly). Kalapanswara was done well but I felt the tempo slowly started to get faster and faster as they went into the Muthaippu. Then came the ever-green piece Diwakara Thanujam, since it was on Saturday may be they chose this piece. Anyway this song was sung very nicely followed kalpanaswara at Diwakara. I felt like one of the brothers missed half-a-beat when singing the last two kalapanaswara. Next in sequence was Poorvikalyani alapana. Especially the ending sancharas in ga ma da ni ri ga was very good pleasing to my ears. Somehow their ending phrases resembled Meenakshi and I thought that was would be the next piece but Deva Deva jagadeeshwara was the one. Niraval and Kalpanaswaram were done nicely. Then came the Sama piece Maravgave O manasa it was sung pleasingly. Karaharapriya alapana was done perfectly followed by Pakkala nilabadi. Niraval was great so was kalpanaswara. Kalpanaswaras phrases ending with da were really good. Thani followed this piece it was really good but I felt the ghatam sound was just too much and that gave pain to the ears! Seeing the time which was almost 9pm brothers asked the audience if they want an RTP obviously the answer was YES! then they told they would do in Charukesi which immediately got a nice applause from the audience. The pallavi line was Saradhindhu samavadane ume Samarendra deva nudhe. Brothers told the audience that they coined this pallavi the same day in the afternoon. Kalapanaswara were done in Kalyani, Abheri, Ganamoorthe and Bhavapriye and in the end bros ended with one avartana swaras in each raga. This was very elegantly done. Overall a very satisfying performance. Varadarajan was extraordinary and so was Narayanan and Vasan.

PS: All are my personal opinions.
