A late evening at work, the famous Traffic Jams of Bangalore ensured that I walked in during the middle of Brocheva! SuryaPrakash did a superb Neraval in Seethapathe.

The tani by Renuka Prasad and Narayanamurthy was extremely absorbing.

Suryaprakash excels in Hindustani Ragas (the last time he had sung Megh Malhar) The Hamsanandi (I noticed that Suryaprakash had shifted to Madhyama Sruthi) , had a Sohini(sh) touch to it. Surya uses "ri" and "hari" to good effect in Raga endings . The Pallavi was crisp and short due to time constraints. Support by T S Krishnamurthy was good.

Met Arasi who had to leave after Tani.

I regret missing Mandhari Varnam and Bhajana Seya Radha :(

And the mandAri varnam and bhajana sEya rAdA were very good. Dharmavati was my favorite of all that I listened to last evening. A very good selection of songs too. KAruNinci nannu was a lilting navarasakannaDa (my being over-dosed on nAn oru viLAiyATTu bommaiyA?!)
While I dislike leaving before the end of a concert (Season ones exempted), I had my reasons. Wanted to spend a few minutes with Suryaprakash and so arrived quite early. He arrived a few minutes after six and rushed to the stage and with my leaving a little early, we couldn't meet. With Cienu and Aishwarya, it was all sign language and a passed note!

CML,
It was a thematic concert and of compositions by the lofty Vasudevachar--so Surya did not include any compositions of a particular upstart-composer of today :)
