Apart from the regular popular vainikas, this fest will also feature Vina performances by leading vocalists such as TNS, Neyveli Santhanagopalan & S. Sowmya. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mini Hall, Mylapore... from today. Organizers are to be lauded for a truly great attempt to revive the popularity of the divine instrument

There is an exclusive veena festival happening from today at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mini Hall, Mylapore. Most of the popular vainikas are participating, as well as Veena recitals by leading vocalists like TNS, Santhanagopalan & Sowmya. I do not have the complete schedule... there is a writeup in The Hindu today. Just thought of bringing it to forumites' notice. We lament a lot about the eclipse of this divine instrument, maybe this is a good opportunity to show our interest and attend in large numbers

I too read the announcement in The Hindu. I wish I were in India now to enjoy the festival. What a nice opportunity missed ! Those who are in Chennai should make it a point to support the festival and encourage well known and upcoming Vainikas.

all the evening have nice concerts..

All weekday evening have 2 concerts. I am only mentioning the names i remember now

Monday - Suma Sudhindra, S Srinvasan, R Pichumani Iyer
Tuesday - Mudicondan S N Ramesh and TNS
Wednesday - Neyveli Santanagopalan and Kalyani Ganesan
Thursday - Allam Durgaprasad and Trivandrum Venkataraman
Friday - R S Jayalakshmi and Rajesh Vaidhya
Saturday - R Sriram, Punya Srinivas Kalpakam Swaminathan and Revathi Krishna.
Sunday - Rama Raghuraman, Revathi Srinivasan, R Ramani, N Anathanarayanan, G R S Moorthy, Anjani, Veena Venkataramani, Mysore Sambasivam, Bavani Prasad, Malathi Krishnamani, Shankar Prakash, Vasanta Krishnamurthy, Jayaraj & Jaysri.
and many others, all over the world.

Saturday has 4 or 5 concerts and sunday, the show runs the whole day.

My mrs have also been participated in the latest veenarpanam I am very glad, Ramesh from Madurai Mudra is always great,thanks to good and kind gentleman
