We all seek his musical blessings on this happy occasion. His recent concert at Ragasudha inconnection with PR's B'day celebration was excellent. In that Arul Raj the mirudangam crafts man was honoured.

Wishing many happy returns of the day to the vidwan!
I could not resist the urge to upload this picture from an event in Bangalore on July 5th, 2009.

Can some of the rasikas post any anecdotes and personal experiences involving Shri RK Srinkantan?
I had posted a few years ago an incident narrated by Shri VV Sundaram in the Cleveland aradhana. At the cost of repetition I am writing it one more time and I hope forum members can share some of their experineces or "shruthi's" :
Shri RKS had agreed to conduct classes for the Sampradaya training prorgram for children and he has to travel from time to time from BLR to MAA. Shri VVS said that he received an urgent call one day and Shri RKS told him that he could not get reservation in BLR-MAA Mail so was it ok to travel by Brindavan Express. He was taking Shri VVS's 'permission' since Brindavan costs a wee bit more than the Mail. Shri VVS totally taken aback because he was willing to fly Shri RKS or even charter a plane in the exgtreme, to get him to Chennai; and here is the gentleman ringing up to get his approval for a nominal fare difference. What a story!!

I am sharing two of many anecdotes and personal experiences with RKS, the doyen of KM
1) RKS Sir told me that when he got the first opportunity to sing for Music Academy at PS High School,Chennai, Sandhyavandanam Srinivasa Rao, an intimate friend, feeling RKS anxiety to do well in the presence of Great Maestros ARI, MVI and MUSIRI and many other stalwarts, advised him to leave the focus on the GM's presence and sing with ease and to his own satisfaction. The high quality of RKS music will not fail to register and win the appreciation of all GM's. RKS did perform very well and received the appreciation and blessings of his idol, MUSIRI.
2) Few years back, RKS Sir was performing thematic concert at Ananya, Malleswaram, Bangalore- One Raga compositions-Darbhar. RKS Sir requested me to give him the notations for the Mudduswami Dikshita composition in Darbhar(a rare composition, rarely handled) to learn and perform this composition at the age of 86/87! I was moved by his commitment and dedication. RKS Sir constantly strives for learning new compositions and additions to his already rich and wide repertoire. This quality and values has to be imbibed all the musicians and students of KM.
