"Maithreem Bhajatha"- Carnatic music serial

"Maithreem Bhajatha" is a carnatic music serial which is being telecasted every saturday in the SANKARA TV from 9:00 to 9:30pm.
This program is directed by Kalimamani Dr.S.Sunder.
This serial is aimed in taking the rasikas through a series of interesting and educating topics from the ocean of carnatic music. This serial covers all the composers, compositions, theories, history, etc.
So, rasikas, kindly enjoy the journey into the ocean of carnatic music.

An excellent programme members please do watch .. Dr.Sunder deserves all praise and appreciation for such a monumental effort in popularising carnatic music to the lay as well as the knowledgeable rasika. May his tribe increase.

A long time back they were once doing programs where the artists speak about their past experiences and those experiences are then taken in Cinematic format with actors playing out the roles. It was very enjoyable program and used to be aired regularly in doordarshan early nineties. I thoroughly enjoyed that program. Nowadays they don't take much of that format i remember some of the artists like Dr.balamauralikrishna mama,santhanam mama and others.
However i am happy sruti, for Dr.sunder's effort in producing a serial like this in today's mega serial world a worthy addition to TV.Thanks for the information.

There is one more that comes in makkal TV about the life of the nagaswaram genius Thiruvaduthurai rajaratnam pillai also a very enjoyable program.

There are several other intersting progarmmes in that channel (Sankara) for example, LSubramaniam's violin concert..

I vaguely remember watching it around 8:00 Clock however i think its aired only on certain dates.You can however check the Paper for listings.
