20/01/2010 morning between 7 am to 7.30 am, Vijay TV telecast SRG's concert on the event of GNB's centenary celebrations.
Accompanied by Shri V.L.Kumar (Violin) and KalliDaikuruchi Shri Sivakumar (Mrudangam) and Kanjira (sorry - not sure about vidwan's name), SRG presented RadhA sametha Krishna; Ranjini niranjani of GNB in Ranjani rAg; finally Eka dantam - bilahari of MD.
Good combination in both accommopaniments as well as kritis.
With visible true inspiration of Great GNB, Shri GangAdharan sang above songs. Behind SRG was a banner contained GNB who was looking up !!.
Ranjani rAg had some attractive and new jArus like ri dha, ri ni and good manodharmam was there. Niraval and swaras were sung at 'KanjadaLa lochani kAmakshi.
I felt that his voice has broken and the inspiration of GNB had actually led to overdoing brigAs, thus dislocation of swarasthAnas were seen.
At such a racy phase, slippages can not be over ruled, unless one has absolute control on the voice.
If SRG really slows down a bit, then Carnatic World would have a very good exponent in the years to come. He is relatively young.
SRG is also a Flautist and a CA (if my memory is good)
I am also a fan of his music and if this feed back reaches him he sportively takes and march ahead.
