Shyama-priya, here is the entire paattu.

Perumai pera ninaitthu puhazh pEsa vEndum, poimai pesEdu irukka vEndum

Thanks for the lyrics. As sridhar suggests, could you please change those and also the r to R where necessaary? examples: uRavu. onRu, maRakka etc?
correction: ninadu (your) not ninaittu.
migu rather than mihu.
Is it taN mugam? tan mugam would mean his own face. taN=cool, soothing.

S-P - here you go - with minor corrections to the lyrics as posted. Also need clarification for tan-mukha and uN-mukha which I have translated contextually. This is an intense prayer to muruga of kandakOTTam (vaDapazhani?):
Oh exalted (ONgu) spear-wielding (vElE) kArtikEyA (kanda) who resides inside kandakOTTam (kandakOTTattuL), which is a place (thalam) that florishes (vaLar) within the city of chennai that is filled (migu) with righteousness (dharmam), with a soothing (taN) face (mukh(g)a) that is a blemishless (tuyya) gem (maNi), the gem (maNi) of a face (mukh(g)a) that Siva delights in (uN)! Oh six(shaN)-faced (mukha) gem (maNiyE) among gods (deiva)! Please listen to my prayers/desires:
I desire/ask for (vENDum) the company (tuNai) of those (tam) excellent/superlative souls (uttamar) who think (ninaikinRa) of your (nin) divine (tiru) flower(malar)-like feet (aDi) with single-minded devotion (orumaiyuDan).
I desire the ability to push away/reject (kalvAmai) [1] interactions (uravu) with duplicitous folks who entertain (vaittu) thoughts of one thing (onRum) but convey (pESum) a different (onRum) thought/thing altogether.
I desire to attain (peRa) fame (perumai) by speaking/spreading the word (pESa) about your (ninandu) greatness (pugazh). I desire to live (irukka) without speaking (pESAdu) lies/falsehoods (poimai).
I want (vENDum) to be within the confines (piDittu) of the path of salvation (peruneRi) and lead an intense life (ozhuga), and I want to live life without being in the grip (piDiyAdu) of arrogant (madamAna) fiends (pEi).

There is a reason why I remember this 'kandasAmy kOvil'; there used to be a local parlance-'vaTTAra vazhakku' as arasi calls it- if some young students-(boys) were found not good in studies and were proving themselves a nuisance in the class, the teachers used to scold them-' nI kandasAmy kOvil-la theevaTTi piDikkaththAn lAyakku' meaning you are only fit to hold the 'theevaaTTi or theepapandam' during the processions/festivls in the kandasAmy temple.

Punarvasu - thanks for that correction in geography. Goes to show that other than the areas around the kapAlISvarar, jalakaNThESvarar and marundISvarar temples, my knowledge of the geography of Madras/Chennai is pretty much zilch!

Kandaswamy Temple is located in the George Town suburbs of Chennai central. The temple lies in the vicinity of Chennai city center and is easily accessible via Mint Street or the Brodway bus stop, less than a kilometer away.
According to historical records the Kandaswamy temple dates back to the 11th century A.D. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and bears some rich inscriptions of the era, that is 11th century. The temple architecture reveals the characteristic Chola style of temple building. The inscriptions on the temple structure provides some insights of the era that was dominated by the Chola kings. The shrines contained in the temple are those of Kadaswamy, Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. Kandaswamy temple is not the only one of its kind. Two ancient temples in Cheyur very much resemble the Kandaswamy temple. These temples, dedicated to Perumaal and Shiva Valmimakathar, dates back from the same period. The temple attracts a large audience during the celebration of Skandasashti and Parguni (annual festival).
This Kandaswamy temple of Chennai is notable for the outsiders to visit because of the different figures standing in distinct postures. This temple has not only the depictions of deities, which is general feature in the temples. You can get the image of Kazhukundran who had made an artful creation of a temple car in 1521 A.D. It is used during the Skanda Sashti festival.
You can also see the deity of Murga who is the other son of Lord Shiva. The Murga deity is been standing on five different positions. These five postures are called by distinct names like - Nrutta Skandar (dancing Muruga), Brahma Sastha (created from Brahma), Balaskandar (child Shanmuga), Sivagurunathar (as teacher to Siva) and Pulinthar (vedan hunter).
