I guess ravikiran is in this forum and like to tell him that his
Begada Alapana ( I guess this is the main) was excellent today.

Ravikiran's concert was BRILLIANT despite the honestly terrible accoustics. I'll post the highlights now and put up the full song list soon - Kalayani Ata tala varnam, grreat Sriranjini, Alapanai, Neraval, Swaram - marubalga, rocking begada (as rajaglan mentioned) followed by an awesome RTP in Varali, lovely virutham in 5 ragas, followed by mahadeva shiva shambho in revathi. Like one of the organizers said - they've seen and heard various RTP's but this one truly STOOD OUT in all qualitative aspects and was truly scholarly.

I had to leave after the alapana of Varali. He earlier also sang a song in sindunamakriya (am I correct?).
I wanted to attend Ravikiran and this is my first attendance of his concert. It was worth it.
And apart from that reason, I also had a feeling that TMK is going to try something next day so rather
attend his sishya's concert the previous day.
Like to add to the facilities problem at this sabha. If the organisers can correct these problems (below),
it will be better.
1. The sound system/acoustics need to be better. Unnikrishnan, two days back sang here a begada
song, believe it, I couldnot get what was the song. The sound was so bad. May be someone can
tell me what was the song. Today it is far better. Ravikiran had bad acoustics till his third song and
later it settled.
2. There are no advt in any news paper. Every concert seem to start only at 630pm though
I guess it is to start at 6pm. May be Ranjani Gayatri started at 6.15pm. Ambi subramaniam's violin
concert started at 7PM.
3. And on one particular day, the toilet room was filled with 2 inch water and could not enter.
