Mudicondan Ramesh - Veena
Kallidaikurichi Sivakumar - Mridangam
Adambakkam Sankar - Ghatam
Raga Sudha Hall, Feb 16, 2010
I was a bit late going into this concert.
As I entered, Sri Ramesh was finishing Ranjani (probably, Durmargachara).
Marukelara - JayanthaSri
Swara Raga Sudha - Sankarabharanam
Dikku Theriyatha Kattil - Ragamalika
Visveswara Darsanu - Sindhubhairavi
Pathiki Haratheere - Surutti
The Sankarabharanam alapana was excellent. There were delectable phrases that one normally does not hear in even a vocal version of a Sankarabharanam alapana these days. The tani avarthanam that followed was sensitive and not loud at all.
The overall concert was very pleasing. I only wish a larger crowd had attended to listen to a sincere artist on an instrument that somehow fails to attract crowds.
Sincere music, Sincerely rendered: Mudicondan Ramesh

I wasn't even able to attend it.I was a bit late going into this concert.

Heard from a friend that it was indeed durmargachara. Another piece was paramAtmuDu in vAgadIshwari. As I entered, Sri Ramesh was finishing Ranjani (probably, Durmargachara).
Nice choice for the thukkada section! This series seems to be have nice thukkada sections! Sri T T Narendran's had "hecharikkaga", heard Smt R Ramani's had "vandanamu raghunandana".Pathiki Haratheere - Surutti

THIS IS ENTIRELY MY OPINION AS A RASIKA ALL MY LIFE AND AS WELL AS A PERFORMING MUSICIAN - SO NO OFFENCE MEANT TO ANYONE IN ANYWAY.
sincere means to me that one doesnt move away from the old tradition of rendering carnatic music, its clean, not loud blasting in my ears (when i hear loud carnatic music , and when i plug my ears with cotton, the music actually sounds better to me and i can sit thro a concert if its good music ( again my opinion only) ,no ego and only simplicity in the music , neat, not because its not creative , but only because the musician feels thats his way and feels right rendering it that way too.
one can render in anyway he/she thinks is the right way and there ll always be some rasika out there to listen and like any particular way...
