Sridharan - would it be possible for the recording (audio or video) of Sri Seetharama Sharma's lec-dem to be made available on Sangeethapriya?

Congrats the team of Rasikapriya 2009 Programme which i had the fortune to attend. The success was very much visible with a large turnout of audience and it was almost house full by the time lec-dem started. Congrats once again to the winners and to every one who had made it a point to attend this & express their support. Unfortunately i had to leave after three varnams i.e. Hamsadwani, Pantuvarali & Sahana. Had the fortune also to listen to Sri Seetharama Sharma's singing Sahana almost throughout and this is indeed one of my favourite varnams and i really enjoyed it! I am sure the lec-dem was at its best and hoping to listen / view in the site after being uploaded.

Sure Mohan, recordings of all programmes arranged by Sangeethapriya will be available for download, as a principle.

We have done both audio and video recordings of the programme, which was very well received by a near house full audience.

Audio will be uploaded to sangeethapriya in a few days. Video will not be uploaded due to large size of file. It will be available for offline circulation. I will be in Sydney during last week of March, I can bring a copy of the video , if you are interested

It was a very well received lecture concert. Bhagavatula Seetharam Sarma needs to be congratulated in his effort in his meticulous planning and training of his disciples and having several rehearsals ,and that showed on the stage. The singers sang perfectly on his cue and what a lovely voice he has and he was able to bring out the raga bhava so effectively and had the record audience spellbound. The only flaw in the program was time constraint and it requires more time to be allotted for such a theme based concert for full justice to be done.I am sure that this effort would be well received. Future programs of such a nature are in the pipe line. Bye Ragjay

That'll be great. There is a SMC concert on March 27th by Dr Ramanathan at Dundas where we might meet.

sridharan(do you post in eesha id)
Congratulations to the entire team. Nice to associate a face like HMG Murthy and Dr Manjunath. Also very fitting to invite Murali of The hindu (will download the recording, can you provide the exact link please).

Also Smt Jayalakshmi santhAnam giving prizes is perfect too as this vidushi attends atleast 4 to 5 concerts a week , who prefers to always be an intense rasikA first than a performing vidushi next. Truly a top selection.

Yes, I do.

I have not uploaded the audio yet. I am still processing it. Sri Seetharama Sarma was not talking "unidirectional" towards the mic. So there is lot of variation in the volume level when he speaks. I am doing volume normalisation which is taking time. Hope to complete it and upload in the next few days.

The video of the award function is now available. Visit
http://sangeethapriya.org/award/2009/

No need to worry whether they are huge to download as the videos are linked to Youtube, so they can be quickly viewed.

Congratulations Sridharan
for the beautiful compilation of the videos. We get to know the persons who make sangeethapriya great and popular. I am particularly touched by the speech of Dr Manjunath as to how he became the "Rasikapriya" which is similar to most of our own experiences. Murthy is no stranger for us at this Forum. We are very grateful to all these selfless music sharers who have brought CM into the living room of every household all over the world. Mr Murali correctly echoed the sentiments of myriads of CM Lovers all over the world that good music should be available to one and all without let or hindrance. Accept our gratitude to you and your team for making that goal a reality!

The audio has been uploaded to sangeethapriya.org, under "Featured Concerts", lecdem concert-type, album id L0021

I have normalised the audio volume level to a great extent.

Mohan: I may fly out of Sydney on March 26th, so we have to think of alternate way of handing over the DVD. Will let you know closer to the date.

I'm a student of Sri Sarma, and was unfortunately unable to attend the event. Thank you for the audio clips!
