It was such a scintillating concert. So, I decided to post as a separate thread, instead of a lay-rasika’s concert attendance report, as a tribute to the Nonagenarian stalwart.

Many of us were delayed(I went in at the end of song #2) due to the traffic jam caused by the turmoil in the city. But, we were atleast lucky to listen to the rest of the wonderful treat. No fuss about the mikes, this and that, which is normally observed now-a-days. Just the dedicated classical spell-binding rendition. His appreciation of his accompanying artistes displayed his magnanimity. Charulatha did a great job, by repeating every phrase, every word exactly. The percussion support was not any less, which elevated the spirit of the whole kucheri. Other artistes of the twin cities such as the Secunderabd sisters, Sundari Janakiraman Mami, and other junior vidwans and vidushis were spotted in the audience.
While proposing the vote of thanks to Srikantan garu, the committee member became emotional and needed a glass of water, before he was able to speak....Thanks to the sabha for arranging two such Stalwarts’ concerts on consecutive days(previous day was Bombay Sisters, will be posting the song list soon, as I don’t have the complete-list right now). Today i.e Sunday morning we had the pancharatna seva, where again we saw Srikantan garu and his family stay through- out the event, despite the heat.
