Function of New Posts Hyperlink

Can you please let me know the function of the hyperlink " New Posts". When I click on it for every new log on nothing is returned.

If nothing is there to be returned, nothing will be returned, meaning there was no new post since your last visit.

New post is not the same as unread posts. New posts will appear only if you logged out and logged in, and between these two, someone posted something new.

Thank you very much for your reply. Inspite of logging out and after a day's gap also this "new posts" feature returns nothing inspite of new posts being there. Example. this reply to my query also did not show up. I am going through the index to look for new posts.

Apart from this above problem I am also facing the below mentioned problems. Kindly help.

1. After a successful login by me, I attempt to reply to a post and on clicking on submit button, the login screen is again showing up.

2. Within few min of my loggin in I am logged out. I am now writing my reply on a note pad and pasting it before the time lapse.

3. After my posting a new post from my side/reply this shows up when I click on new posts.

I am exactly facing this problem for nearly last 2 weeks in my work , I put this "session non persistence problem across tabs" in data migration thread, few weeks back . This problem is not an easy problem to fix. I am researching if I find solution I will let you know. It is just frustrating everytime type some thing and then login and password comes again losing all the content. However this problem is not coming in my home. Such inconsistencies did not happen in the previous flux forum.

This session non persistence problem is killing me. I tried googling and went with manythings like creating firefox profile etc, nothing worked.Any pointers there will help me and vidya raja immensely.
