Priya Sisters performed in the city after a very long time and did not disappoint the audience. It was a grand musical treat. The Governor of AP, Sri Narasimhan attended the concert and also recited a poem on Priya Sisters and blessed them.
The concert hall was fully packed.
The concert began with the varnam in Panthuvarali and it was rendered in two speeds. Next came Sri Ganapathini which is not song very often these days and the swarakalpana at the pallavi was decent. The first alapana of the evening was Thodi and it was dealt in a very grand manner by Haripriya. The krithi Daachukovalena was sung with a detail neraval at the line "Sowmithri" They then sang the fast Khamas piece of Oothukadu. The sub main of the day was Dharmavathi. They rendered Kandha Bhaktha Chinthamani which is again not heard often. The alapana was by Shanmukhapriya and later was taken up by Haripriya. The swarakalpana was done at the raga mudra in the charanam "Dharmavathi". The main piece was "Mohana Rama" which went for a very long time and the neraval was outstanding. The thaniavarthanam was pleasing. The post main items where all on requests. Sarvantharathmudavu is a real wonderful piece with lot of bhavam in the sahityam. So was the tatvam in Nadanamakriya.
All in all it was a wonderful concert
