It was a great concert. Being Sivarathri day, many of the pieces were on Lord Shiva. The AlApanais of bEgaDa and gamakakriyA were both presented with a lot of classical phrases. The kriti renditions were all crisp and clear. The accompanists were good.

On the whole it was an evening if grand classical music from the veteran. The bEgaDa made my day.

Earlier in the evening, Smt. Swaminathan was felicitated by the Trust.

Whose composition is 'ambara cidambara'?

Since the name is rather unique, I have to ask if the Charubala in the trust is in anyway connected to Charubala of Charsur?

ambara chidambara is a composition of Gopala Krishna Bharathi.


Charubala Mohan Trust is an organisation that is run by violinst Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri M Chandrasekharan in memory of his parents.

I think the Ms. Charubala of charsur is related to MC mama. somebody else could clarify.
