Login Issues --> Clear your cookies

Post by srkris »

If you are experiencing login issues, please clear your browser's cookies.

If you are not sure what that means, see http://www.aboutcookies.org/Default.aspx?page=2.

This is a one time exercise, after this you can login and everything will be fine. If you still have a login problem after clearing the cookies, email admin at rasikas dot org

Please note that if you dont clear your cookies first, there is nothing the administrator can do.

Clearing your cookies can affect the behaviour of other sites.

At least, if your browser allows, try clearing only the rasikas.org cookies.

This is easy in Firefox, apparently cannot be done in IE, and I don't know about other browsers

I cleared the cookies some days ago when unable to login - but still need to login EACH time even after I enable auto login. How do you selectively remove rasikas.org cookies on Firefox - I see Toolbox-->clear recent history-->cookies-->everything OR last 1 hr/ 2hrs/ 4hrs/ today

Go to tools ---> options->Privacy tab
Then hit the show cookies button, highlight the rasikas.org and then press remove cookies
I am using firefox 3.0.18 which you can see in help---> about link .

One work-around for the autologin is to make the browser remember your password for a particular site. In Firefox, this is available in Tools --> Options --> Security

Unfortunately no, I can set that right but it will kill everyone else. You may try using a proxy like ultrasurf to see if it helps.

srkris,
I am clueless as I am in the receiving side. When I am able to browse without problems and login too , why is the session not persistant. For some days when you put the fix it worked always though as a prerequisite all of us had to clear the cache which for some reason was not communicated well and noticably and hence you rolled that back. I still feel if you put the fix and AGAIN ASK EACH OF US TO CLEAR THE CACHE IT HELPS ALL OF US. There are many who perhaps have this issue and cannot write to you simply because we all need to login and submit and pray not to login, and we continue to live in ground zero.

None of us had any problems in the previous forum_flux, and in this site browsing and login no problems at all only
session persistence what is stopping me. I cannnot install any proxy servers like ultrasurf in the place I work.

What about other problems like google indexing etc which is all there in data migration thread, there is no gateway at all from googling into our site , it was beautifully indexed before .Why are you not indexing in google yet?

Special note:
-------------
Elaborate more in terms of what the problem is , will try to dig a bit with my partial knowledge. What is that have to do with my proxy , browser, is there any session time out that is set etc... that only affects in my work . Communicate what you did to fix it , what is your analysis ,help us so that we help you more.

COMMUNICATE MORE, DONT KEEP ALL THE CARDS CLOSE TO YOUR CHEST. Today had to type and save in notepad and for the last 3 posts had to hit the submit atleast 9 times after login again.

You choosing at your discretion and intervals to communicate and always being a one man admin just does not help, We have lost lot of active posters.Enthusiasm is vvv all because of migraine that came with migration.Lift it ^^^

OK check session persistency now. Everyone has to clear their cookies again.

Google indexing has a problem. I have contacted google about it.
