Concert featuring Muthiah Bhagavthars Compositions , that are not frequently heard in Concert circuits.

The Concert is dedicated to Uday's Father-in-Law , Soolamangalam RamMohan Rao , who passed away recently . We had the unforgettable experience of listening to him , in one of our Jam sessions . With his wide knowledge and repertoire of skills (Harikatha - Standup comedy - Khanjira Playing - )
That session was a great lesson not only in musical terms , but in the art of sustaining a F'In Law - S'in law relationship.The jugalbandi he played with Uday will be a performance that will shine , as a bright star, in our memories.

Our concert series moves on from the earlier set- which focussed on paying tributes to old masters and performers-with lesser opportunities - TO
A new Series , which is expected to run for a year or more.
A Serires that will broadly follow the theme of :

MYSORE - Its Composers and Its Veena Traditions

Friends , with those bulging purses , can relieve them a bit by stuffing our pockets , on the day of the concert.
This concert is sponsored by Sreeni Rajarao and Srivatsan of Singapore.

Next concert will - in all likelihood - be by G Ravikiran .
Ideas for the continuing the series , even offers for performing ,are all most Welcome

If I may suggest this: how about a concert by Vilasini in memory of dear Ramraj so that we can hear some of his songs from her?

What matters most, though, is that the series of concerts continues --- and I look forward to 22 May

I shall try and make it for 17th. My son has been seeing this forum and i have always participated in this forum with my replies on his subject only after discussing with him. He is interested to perform in this series, if the forum members have no objection to listen to his efforts on bringing out the nuances of our genre of music on keyboard. .

There is limited visitors parking within the complex. The first few cars should be able to park there. They have to give the hosts apartment no. and collect a parking tag at the entrance. The nearby streets - Kalakshetra Rd and Sivasundar Ave. (from which the back entrance to the complex is nearer) can be used for parking.

Meera and Uday will share a few thoughts of Soolamangalam Rammohan Rao.
