The concert had a serene start with ‘Ninnu Juchi’ with swarams at the Pallavi phrase. Sujana Jeevana was packed with expression and Sahitya Bhava. The Pantuvarali alapana was fast paced and full of zest and the Neraval was in the Charanam line ‘Ragadi Samharam’. This was followed by the grand Dikshitar composition – ‘Mamava Pattabhirama’ , with a short raga outline. The garland of swarams in the charanam phrase ‘Maniranga’ exhibited the raga’s beauty. Karaharapriya alapana was complete, with phrases soaked in true sampradaya. The soulful rendition of ‘Rama Nee’ uplifted the concert to a memorable level. The Neraval and Swarams in ‘Paluku Paluku’ was followed by an excellent Thani by the percussion aritstes, Tanjore Sri. Ramadas and Sri. B.S Purushotam.
The Divyanama Sankirtana ‘Karuna Jalathe’ was followed by the Tamil composition – Aravinda Pada Malar. The distinctive selection of songs and excellent rendition made the concert exquisite.

Re: Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam @ Astika Samajam , Venus Colony
* I liked the way she handled swaram @"Maniranga" -conventionally we have heard @ "navaratna mantape."
* Rama ne Samanamevaru pallavi has a no. of sangatis, I observed she sang a few sangatis after singing anu- pallavi. She is different that way.
* A general question: - What does the word in neraval "Pallukku palluku laguthene, lolagu mataladu..."`convey.(Most of the people do that way. Some like SSI handle even less words-stopping with ---thene..)- meaning according to SKA T.S.Parthasarathy's book " Your brothers' every word is sweet like honey -ovvoru warthailum thenozhuga pesubavargal -Then would it not be more appropriate if we manage to add the word sotharulu(If it conveys the meaning &better)? No offence !Just curious!
