The Shri Ragam Varnam was a nice start. Somehow the Purvangam part of the Varnam appeals a lot to me, more than several of the Krithis in the Ragam. The Arabhi and Begada pieces were rendered at a quick pace followed by what was the pick of the day for me. The Bhairavi sub main was an elaborate affair. The Ragam was nicely done, but the Neraval at Mangalakara Mandahasa Vadanam quite made the day for me. It was an extensive Neraval in two speeds covering the endearing contours of Bhairavi. The Swarams in Melkalam were sung well too. The Mandari Krithi had an interesting round of fast one Avarthanam Swarams. The main Kedaragaulai was nicely rendered at leisure. Some of the Swaram patterns were rather creative. The Tani was short and good.
The violinist played wonderfully throughout. Her responses to Bhairavi Neraval and Swarams were highly mature and very good, could distinctly see shades of TNK in the Bhairavi Ragam.

Thanks, Sathej.
villinai otta puruvam is in a kAvaDic cindu mode, but is a song by Subramanya bArati. I bet you knew that and bArati needs a mention!
