Shashank's flute performance in San Jose/Berkeley/Sacramento

Post by musiker »

Awsome is the only word for Maestro Shashank's concerts in San Jose, Berkeley and Sacramento. Ragas presented were Purvi Kalyani, Keeravani, Saramathi, Nalinakanti, Pantuvarali, Ranjini and a few more.

Akarai Subhalakshmi who accompanied Shashank was between OK and good. Tanjore Murugabhopathi was poor and no match to the Maestro.

Overall all concerts were very melodious, peaceful and extremely enjoyable. Very clean and professionally executed performances with great deal of variety.

musiker,
That's a very creepy set of "reviews". Are you a Shashank "groupie", following him from one place to another ?! If Thanjavoor Murugabhoopathy is "poor and no match for the maestro" maybe the maestro shouldn't be touring with him :).

This review is "between stupid and ridiculous" - sparse on details, generous on bad-mouthing fellow artists...ooops...

Take it easy gentlemen!! Decorum first, please. English is a lovely language with fantastic vocabulary, to express dislike and disagreement without in the least being abusive. It is a fine art and this is a good forum to practise it !!

Mr Uday,

Please note that I am an avid Carnatic Music fan and not anybody's groupie!. In fact I have been quite a fan of Akkarai Subhalakshmi and many others including Maestro's like Mandolin Shrinivas among many others. The least I dont need to explain or justify who I am !.

The few lines was just a report of the concert and the way I felt it to be and there is no need to read a great deal into it! I write about all artists that perform in the Bay area under many user IDs, just as many would, on this site.

And finally Mr. Uday, you sure could re-visit your poor choice of words, to say the least. Thanks to KSSR for the support

Was this a report about 3 concerts or a single? I think the blanket characterization of accompanying artists, esp. of the mridangist as "poor" is definitely a "great deal". It justifies Uday's characterization of the review.

Using multiple IDs is specifically frowned upon and discouraged on this forum. Pls see http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2677

Secondlly the ID musiker has been created just prior to this post, and no previous posts under this ID.
