* I understand this is derived out of grahabedam Of Surya(Sallabam)-(Anthara gandharam substituted in Hindolam-)Ma to sa.
* Rara song in "Chandramukhi" is in this Raga, I am told.
* This again is said to be the Janya of "Kirvani"

you need not do a graha bedham to arrive at srothasvini. it is easier if you just replace the ni2 of suddha dhanyasi to ni3.

of course, the grahabedham is also correct.

since you mentioned some cine songs, there are some other too like 'oh vasantha raja', 'sindhiya venmani' etc.
