A small Preamble - of the difficulty we face wrt to searching for the lyrics of Purandara Dasa songs :

Often, I find searching in the Internet for the lyrics of Purandara Dasa songs, the most difficult - this in spite of some popular links that I am aware of - including for eg, the links in : http://www.forumhub.com/indcmusic/ ...

Consider this link : http://www.rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1090 - we can see separate links provided for many composers, but unfortunately, except for a passing reference in " Different composers ...", we can't find a separate list of Lyrics' links for Purandaradasa Songs !

Even in http://www.sangeetasudha.org/thyagaraja/vol2/p.html - Sangeeta Sudha - by Damodara Rao Dasu, we can't find a separate dedicated list for Purandara Dasa ! (not even in the "Other Composers" List !

Noting the request in "Sahitya & identification requests" for separate messages for lyrics of each song, here's my first song request for Lyrics, Ragam(s), Taalam(s), Composer, any special additional info :

Recently, I heard a Purandara Dasa song with the lyrics going somewhat like this :

Lyrics-Q1 :
Maragati Mohatiye ...
...
Ondu Vari Shrisa Shrisa ...
IndirA Ramana Shri Purandara Vittala...

I think, it was most probably sung in the Ragam Valaji ? - To be confirmed.

Can someone pl send me the info or the links.
If this song is also sung in some other Ragam(s) too, pl let me know the other Ragams as well.

Since no one in this Forum nor from forumhub.mayyam.com has come forward so far with the lyrics of a few songs I had requested ...

Let me add that what I have stated in my Postings, are the words that I listened to, and deciphered, in a live Kutcehri. The actual words may be words, closely rhyming with these.

Also, it is quite possible that in a few cases, the singers might have picked up a song not from the Pallavi, but from a Charanam line.

So, I am just wondering if it is quite possible that "Maragati Mohatiye ..." may also be a line different from the Pallavi ??
Can someone try with this "hint" ?

For eg, (specially) in Harikatha Pgms, they often pick the songs from an apt Charanam line or from AnuPallavi.

So, (how) can I attach a Video or Audio clip of this song ?

I have a Video Clip of this song {and an extracted Audio file from the Video}.

The extracted Audio file is of size = 9 MB, and the original recorded Video *.mov of size = 99 MB (if necessary, I can use a compression S/w to convert this mov to mpeg4 file of roughly 20 MB (limited to first 3 mins only) - this will of course cause a slight reduction in resolution, but is still quite good enough).

Pl let me know if / how we can upload a file while posting / replying to messages in this forum.

Also, the number and size limit of such attachments.

Often, specially while requesting for the exact lyrics of a song which we might have heard in a live kutcheri, it would be very useful if we could upload the recorded audio clip of the song (or even the recorded video clip of a part of the song - needs larger size limit !).

This upload feature will also be useful if we have to send across a Sketch or a Diagram depicting for eg, a sketch of the 22 Shrutis' Freq values, or the tuning sequence of the strings of a Violin or a Veena etc.
