Hai, recently I listened to this beautiful song of Tyagaraja Swamy rendered by Sri Sanjay Subrahmaniam. The way Sanjay sang - with full of bhavam - it got registered in my mind instantly (I was listening to this song for the first time and in fact I haven't listened to Sanjay many times before this).
Coming to the lyrics of this song, Sanjay sang like this - in the pallavi after the initial line "nannu vidachi kadalakuraa" he added some beautiful phrases "raamayya rama, kodanda rama, pattabhi rama, kalyana rama" then went on to complete the pallavi "raamayya vadalakura". I referred to the web for the lyrics of this song but nowhere these phrases were mentioned. (ref: sahityam.net and some other web sites). Would like to know these phrases are added up by Sanjay (or by his Guru, so he is continuing the bani).
Of course, it doesn't matter (to me) even if these lines are not there in the original composition as they further enhanced the beauty of this extremely beautiful composition.
"Endaro Mahanubhavulu andariki vandanamulu"

Ramesh - singing kodanda rama, pattabhi rama, kalyana rama is quite common for this song. Many stalwarts like DK Jayaraman, MD Ramanathan have sung this so it may have been added many years ago, even though perhaps the original pallavi is just
nannu viDici kadalakurA rAmayya vadalakurA
ననà±à°¨à± విడిచి కదలకà±à°°à°¾ రామయà±à°¯ వదలకà±à°°à°¾

Re: Lyrics of Nannu vidachi
Those who came even before these stalwarts sang it that way too. Somehow, it is appealing to me--out of habit or because rAmA being called by his many names in this song goes very well with the heart-melting plea of T in this particular kruti.
However, I am not all that keen when vocalists add the many names of a god to a line which do not exist in the song, They merely happen to be some other names of that entity. At that point, it starts sounding like a bhajanai to me and not a concert.
