It was a nice concert. The Shri Ragam Varnam always appeals to me, more than many Krithis in the Ragam. The Reethigowlai was sung well with a good Neraval. The parts of the concert that were highly touching to me included the Nayaki Krithi and the slow Madhyama sthayi expositions in Sankarabharanam. Somehow like this Swathi Thirunal Nayaki Krithi more than the popular Dikshithar one - Ranganayakam. The Sangathis at the Pallavi itself are so Nayaki-filled !
The main Sankarabharanam was sung well. There was a nice round of Swarams with wonderful elaborate layam variations at the classical GMPMG RGSRG. The Kanakku was well executed each time and ended with a good Porutham Korvai for the eduppu Badarivana. The Tani that followed was nice with good Nadai variations. The violinist played a good supportive role. Post main, the Anandabhairavi and Behag were soothing.
