Balaji,
What are you doing in Kolkata? Playing in another concert? Your running commentary on a concert this is!
Hope a review follows

I have seen elsewhere that some folks rightly take exception to saying "charaNam" when referring to "saraNam"cienu wrote:Wow Balaji ! Great goingIs it Tiruvadi Charanam ?

Since the word in question is an imported one, shouldn't it be 'SaraNam' and not 'saraNam'?

Arasi Madam
I played three concerts as part of a series organised by Rasikhapriya ....There were five concerts in total apart from a Layavinyasa concert by Shri.Shankar of Kolkata and out of which i played 3 concerts ... for Amruta Venkatesh, K.Gayatri and Subhashini Parthasarathi. There were other two concerts one by T.N.S.Krishna and another by V.Shankaranarayanan.

It's great to see this post. I'm from Singapore and like all my other music loving friends here, I'm in complete admiration for this young and vibrant artist. Today his concert for Singapore Music Festival organized by Carnatica was a testimony to Shankar's music and popularity here. He proved that even common ragas like kalyani can with the right approach be made so refreshing and innovative. The audience turn out was very good despite it being a 3-5 concert. His concert was followed by Malladi Borthers and Nityasri (all stunning performances).
As the organizer Mr Shashikiran rightly said, Singapore is lucky to have him atleast partly since he spends most of his time in India these days for performances. What amazes me (and our community here) is his ability to pursue music with so much passion despite being a high profile banker. Apparently he had a concert at chennai yesterday and flew in today! Kudos to his family for supporting him and may god bless him with the same enthusiasm always and forever.
Balaji sir, We met last yr at Shankar's RTP concert at SIFAS. Hope you remember.
