Pictures are great. It would also help all of us to avoid too much of repetitive photos for eg there are about 10 to 15 photos uploaded of manimaran, almost the same , looked like I was in the photo studio where they keep hanging lots of passport size photos.Your one round of filter will help all of us. Thanks

Excellent photos. Thanks. We could get a feel of the entire event, much more than a million words.ramanathan wrote:Pictures from the Sydney Music Festival 2010:

Good camera- Which one? Good photographer- brilliant close ups- who is he- Sri.Ramanathan himself, I guess. Great work.
Observations:
1. Who is the mama, presumably giving introductory remarks, who is in the first picture, just a curiosity?
2. What is Sudha's speech about?
3. Managed to get Shashikiran's photo with a straight face once. Great

4.Great to see Sri.OST's pictures. Of late I have become his ardent fan. His kacheris are indeed topclass now.
5. Interesting seating for the aaradhana. Young Shashank and TMK getting the pride of place. Even OST appears a bit squeezed in. That is what perception building does, over a period of time

6. The hall and other arrangements are spotless and impeccable.
7. Nithyashree's dad had got missed out?
8. Who are the two youngsters- one man with a beard (not TMK) and the young lady who appears after Shashikiran + gottuvadyam + tabla concert? Sorry for not being up to date.
9. Good to see M Easwaran mama in great form performing in many concerts.
10. Interesting TMK dress. New Jarigai veshti with a rajasthani folk top!
Thanks again for the wonderful pictures. Other organisers can emulate.

Oh. I have heard a lot about this maestro. Great to see his photos.

The vocalist I am referring to is the singer with the red shirt immediately after the aaradhana photos.
Thank you very much for the info.

Perhaps it would help if you could just refer to the photo number.kssr wrote:The vocalist I am referring to is the singer with the red shirt immediately after the aaradhana photos.
E.g. picture #122 is of VK Manimaran

Yes. Absolutely correct. Manimaran. Is he a resident of Australia. The name does not sound a bellragam-talam wrote:Perhaps it would help if you could just refer to the photo number.

Mohan, if KSSR refers to the young lady in photo#215, then it is Subhashree Thanikachalam.. But if he is referring to the photo#222, then it is Nisha Rajagopal. Since KSSR referred the photo after "GottuvAdhyam+Tabla", i assumed he was referring to photo#215..

Re: Sydney Music Festival
Now I know both Nisha and Subhashree- both familair names but not faces. Original question was only about Nisha, a very attractive looking lady, I should say. Thank you both Mohan and semmu for taking pains to explain.semmu86 wrote:Mohan, if KSSR refers to the young lady in photo#215, then it is Subhashree Thanikachalam.. As mentioned by other posters, the "mama" is indeed Prof. Trichy Sankaran and he was sharing his memories of Sri. GNBkssr wrote:1. Who is the mama, presumably giving introductory remarks, who is in the first picture, just a curiosity?
Her guru, Smt. MLV. The session was devoted to GNB & MLV, with a slideshow on each of them. Prof. Sankaran spoke on GNB and Sudha Akka spoke on MLVkssr wrote:2. What is Sudha's speech about?
Already answered by otherskssr wrote:7. Nithyashree's dad had got missed out?

Re: VK Manimaran - He is not based in Sydney. He is very much Chennai-based. Besides being a vocalist, he is Subhasree Tanikachalam's partner at Maximum Media, the production house that brings out several music programmes on Jaya TV, including Margazhi Maha Utsavam, Ragamalika, Hariyudan Naan, Cleveland Aradhana and the recent Carnatic Idol.

Thank you, Ramanathan. Subhashree is household name for all CM rasikas, but not her face.
