A visually challenged very talented A Grade Veena Artist

I would like to introduce Mrs. Maheswari Venkitaraman, a visually challenged Veena Staff Artist of All India Radio, Madurai, successfully completed her PG in Music, desciple of Mr/Mrs. Tirupanandal Shanmuga Sundaram Pillai, Kamala Ashwathama, Kalpagam Swaminathan, T.N. Sesha Gopalan and a Laya exponent Tiruchi J. Venkataraman
started her career of stage recital at the age of twelve in Sesha Sayee Sabha, accumulated prestigious awards like Veena Danammal Memorial Award at Musicakademy Chennai, saraswathy vggeyakara trust award, Iyal Isai Nataka Mandrum, Mylapore Fine Arts Club Award and the Best Employee of Tamilnadu Government. I happen to hear her veena concert through All India Radio, Madurai accompanied by Mr. Palladam R. Ravi in Mridangam.
shri Kanthi Mathim song was marvellous, raga alapana and swara part were excellent. She scheduled for her Naada Neeranjanam recital through TTD on 2-7-2010 from 6.15pm to 7.30pm. All members are requested to watch programme and encourage the talented visually challenged A Grade Veena Artist hailing from Madurai. She is also honoured at various function titled as Kalai Sudarmani, Nada Voli, Siranda Penmani and Veena Kalanidhi

Her name is Maheswari Venkatraman and we featured her in Mudhra's Veena Festival last year. Yes, she plays brilliantly and I stiil remember the wonderful Kapi raga that she played in that concert.

I think sramesh's idea was to provoke our curiosity and make us listen to the SVBC concert. We will anyhow listen. There have been quite a few visually challenged great vidwans. I am sure that she will definitely get the recognition she deserves from the elite CM rasikas
