VKR - suragurum = the preceptor (guru) of the gods (sura)
surugurum (was how Krishna had it in the first place) = not sure if it means anything..

rAma - One who is so charming and delightful
Akhyam - One who has the name
jagadISvaram - The Universal Lord
suragurum - One who is the guru for the suras (demigods in general), bRhaspati avatAram.
mAyA - One who does deceitful yet wonderful tricks. This word need not just be take as illusion in an advaitic connotation. In viSiSTAdvaitam, we defined it as AScharyachESTitam.
manuSyam - Human being
harim - One who steals our Papas (as defined by Prahladazhvan) and One who came in a "hurry" to rescue the Elephant (as defined by SukhabrahmaRSi)
vandEham - My obisance (I offer my respects)
karunAkaram - The most compassionate
raghuvaram - best from the Raghu Dynasty
bhUpAla - the ruler of the earth
chUDAmaNim - crown jewel
The SabdhA rAmAkhyam should be taken along with the words in the first two lines and along with the words in the second two lines.
I (tulasi dAsar) offer my obeisances to the supreme being, with the name (SrI) rAmA, who is worshipped always by brahmA, Siva, AdiSESa (the Serpent Bed) and dEvEndra (the Leader of the Demigods), who is so peaceful since He is not touched by sorrow, anger, hatred, etc., who is eternal (adi madhya anta rahita - not limited by time), who's qualities (kalyANa guNAs) are immeasureable (viz. pUrNamadha pUrNamidam SlOkam) yet perfect (Suddha Sattva guNas untouched by rAjasa and tAmasa) and who grants mOkSa which is limitless peace. This all-pervading Supreme Being, who has the name (SrI) rAma, who is sung by the vEdAs, is not only the guru to the demigods but is also the one who plays deceitful (yet wonderful) tricks by coming down from SrIvaikuNTam as a human king, SrIrAmachandran, yet did not show a single kalyANaguNa of His pararUpam as paramapadanAthan. He is the one who steals our pApAs (and punyAs) like Lord hari stole butter from the pots of the gopa-gopikas of nandagrAmam. This is the same Lord hari who jumped from SrIvaikuNTam to the lake shore from where SrI gajEndrazhvAn, the king of the elephants, called out for the Primodial Being (Supreme Personality of Godhead) to rescue him from the crocodile. I (obeisances) to the most compassionate one who is the best one from the raghu dynasty and is the crown jewel amongst kings who rule this earth.
The first line reminds me of the taittirIyOpaniSad vAkyam - satyam gnyAnam anantham brahma and the last line from santArAmasvAminam (hindOLavasantham) - anRtajaDadukharahitamanAdyam.
