Thanks Ravi. We have seen glimpses of her talent along with her dad in his Jaya tv programs. It is good to see her progressing to the concert stage.
The reviewer states, in an otherwise very positive review: "A suggestion here. It is always a better proposition for new entrants to bank on the well known and time tested compositions of the Trinity than take up little known numbers, rarely heard ragas of less popular composers."
Interesting advice and I am in two minds about whether it is a sound one or not. It will definitely be a conservative approach to follow that suggestion and risk free but then these days going out of the box/comfort zone is considered a positive trait.

Sriranjani,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting your music at last! Enjoyed the jAvali I missed that evening.
Your mAl marugan and pantuvarALi (sadA enna) which we heard during the season at the Carnatica concerts in Swamy Hall were impressive too. Sorry, we had to leave soon after them. WOuld like to listen to an entire concert of yours the coming season...
VK,
You are right about her voice and the bhAvA that goes with the words--add to it rAga bhAvA too.

Nice to see you here. I join the others in wishing you all the best for your concerts ahead.
Arasiji,
Sorry for the late response. I am logging in to the forum after a 3-day gap. Here is the link to our impressions on Sriranjani's Bangalore concert-

Among all of 'the Hindu' reviewers, particularly like G.SwaminAthan the most. This is a very good review of vid sriranjani, liked her song selections

Wow, she certainly sings some offbeat ragas and krithis for an up and comer. When I pore over the Hindu supplement in Chennai during the season, it always seems to me that most of the juniors sing one of the Big 6 as main...

Re: Sriranjani Santhanagopalan
vk - Even though she is so young, I am sure Sriranjani has 'performed' several times infront of one of the toughest judges and vidwans: her own father! That should have provided solid training for her.

Very Nice Q&A by sriranjani . The last question was well answered, hope she walks the talk , we have to see that in the next decade or two.
