Accompanied by :
V. Sanjeev - violin,
Sherthalai Ananthakrishnan - Mridangam,
KVGopalakrishna - Kanjira
Went to this concert with great expectations since it was a special 'GNB compositions' concert.. And was not let down. BMK did an excellent job and so did the accompanists.. There was an intro speech by Shri. TRS about GNB with some humorous anecdotes..
The bhairavi and poorvikalyani raaga alapanai was outstanding and as always, the traditional touch from BMK was upto its usual standards! I havent heard most of the songs he sang and so enjoyed the list chosen.
His voice was a bit strained but he knew exactly how to manage it. Later on talking to him, heard that he was starting to get a cold plus the AC being too high made it worse.. But was quite impressed that he still carried on in full swing.
(I did notice this in all A/C halls in Chennai.. AC is way too cold!)

Nee samanamevaru is a popular krithi in Subhapantuvarali in GNB.Not sure of the above that you have mentioned.
Not heard the purvikalyAni at all.
