Sangeetha Bhushanam Shri O.V. Subramaniam [ F/O OST ] passed away yesterday in chennai. He was instrumental in setting up a music school in Thanajavoor in early 50s along with Pozhakudi bros and TK Rangachari. Condolences to the bereaved family.

My heartfelt condolences to the musical family. I learnt from his daughter, Smt. Padmavathy Natesan in Delhi and had opportunities to learn from Sri OVS. I had always found him to be enthusiastic in teaching and discussing musical matters. He had all the musical knowledge and insights due to his training under eminent vidvans like Sri Tiger Varadachary and Tanjavur Sri Ponnaiah Pillai. It is difficult and rare to find so many persons associated with music in a single family. All of his children are professionals in music. Whilst Sri O S Thiagarajan is a classical concert performer, Sri O S Arun is into Bhajans, Sri O S Sundar into Namasankeerthanam, Smt. Padmavathy Natesan has taken it to teaching music.

May his soul rest in peace.

My heart-felt condolences to Sri O.S. Thyagarajan and his family members on their bereavement. Though he was aged, he could have lived a few more years imparting his skill and knowledge to his children. Really an irreparable loss.

So sad to hear this. Heart felt condolenses.
I went to his Son's Namasankirthanam concert in June in Bangalore. As said in the article, the next generation of his family performed first before the main artist took on.
