Often I listen to Smt. Nithyasree Mahadevan rendition of Samanyavalla song at the website of Musicindiaonline.com. An excellenet song, and I always found it to be very moving. Wanted to know the meaning (English) of this song for a very long time. And I do not know Kannada language. If any of you will point me to the posted actual or your own overview of meaning of the song, it will be greatly apperciated.

A couple of words need correction in this devaranaama.
[1] In charanam [2] it is "haanivrddigaLeradake" in place of "hina vrddIgaLeradake
[2} In charanam{2] it is "dInateyanu" in place of "dInadeyanu"
[3] In charanam[2] it is "mAnApAMana" in place of" mAnapa mAna"
[4] In charanam[3] it is"sarvAnugrahanendu" in place of "sarvAnuganendu'

Meaning of :sAmAnyavalla-shri hariya -sEve
[P] It is not simple [easy/ordinary] to worship,Sri Hari.
for the uninitiated[layman,pAmara]
It is not simple.to worship Sri Hari.
[A.P] The Lord who protected the elephant,[sAmaja varadana}
if meditated upon with love, wont lessen the negativity in the mind?
[C.1] The polluted inner mind should be cleaned,
The story of the Lord of Lakshmi [Sri Kanta} should always be heard,
The qualities of the saints should be learnt,
Should always meditate in the mind eternally.
[C.2] Should control the mind and the senses.
Should collect knowledge ,not react to death or birth[loss or profit]
Be humble,bear insults and exaltations with equilibrium
Meditate deep, the various aspects of Sri Hari.
[C.3] Sri Hari is all pervading,He is the Lord of all.[sarveshwara]
He entertains himself [svaramana] [as Brahma and Rudra]
He is the greatest bestower[of boons] [sarvAnugraha]
[one] should meditate on His form as Purandara Vittala
always and remove pride [swAbhimana] from one"s mind

A small correcton
Garva/pride is swAbhiman but I feel "vanity' [durabhimAna] would give a proper meaning
Remove vanity from one's mind." [read in place of "remove pride,swAbhiman from one's mind.]
in the last line of charana [3]
