I have a CD with Kalavati Avadhoot (Bangalore K Venkataram's daughter) rendering the song that Vyju is looking for. I will listen to the song again and will try to write down the lyrics and post it here.
Please give me a few days!

This is what I hear from Kalavati Avadhoot's beautiful rendition in
Sudda dhanyAsi

rAma rAma rAmennirO
nara janma sTiravalla
rAma rAma rAmennirO

inta kOmalAngana nAma
A vELegodagadO

Orante sAkida sutaru tanavaralla
dhAruNi paSu dhAnya dhanavu hinduLivavu

ketta samsAradi eLLaShtu sukhavilla
sRuShtiyoL purandara viTalana neneyade

The lyrics are straight forward but I am not sure about the word "Orante" that I hear - I am not familiar with that word. Upon further thinking about it, I am leaning toward "Ore ante" with the meaning of Ore = side, as in very close to you.

Orante means treating all of them as one or treating all of them equally. Orante saakida sutarella=he brought up all the sons treating them equally.

Smt. Savitri avare,
Thank you!
I am very familiar with rAma rAma rAma sItArAma ennirO, because Father singing this is etched in my brain. He has tuned it in durbAr and has included it in one of the books (I believe it is in haridAsa krti manjari, published by kannaDa sAhitya pariShat, 1955).
In fact, I am still hoping to find a cassette tape we had recorded with him singing it at home in the mid-1970s!

There is at least one more caraNa (probably more) in rAma rAma rAma sItA rAma enniro song. I will open a separate thread for that and type up the complete song.

shyama-priyaji, Kindly excuse me.There is a mistake in my previous post. The meaning of the song"Rama Rama Ramenniro" is here.Recite the name of Rama Rama Ram.This life is not eternal.C[1] The name of the soft spoken{Rama} will not help you at that moment[of death] C[2] The children brought up impartially are not yours. The land, the cattle, the granneries, the riches stay back.[They will not accompany] C[3] In this wretched family happiness is nil, without meditating on Purandara Vittala.[due apologies to Dasavarenya] I will post the meaning of the song"Rama Rama Rama Seetarama enniro" on the other thread by Srini Rajarao.Thankyou.

Smt. Savitri - thank you so much for your efforts. Sreeni - can you put Smt. Savitri in touch with Ramakriya - I am sure her can use her help, knowledge and expertise with the purandara dAsaru wiki project.

Smt. Savitri : Thank you for the helpful translation but this must be a mistake...

.."C[1]The name of the soft spoken{Rama} will not help you at that moment[of death]..."

---you mean -- Only the name of the soft spoken Rama will help you at the moment [of death].

If I may make a suggestion, please separate the lines when you translate, instead of the whole song looking like a paragraph. This makes it a little easier to read. Looking forward to the other translation. Thanks again.

Shyama-priyaji. Thanks for the response and suggestion The words that Sri Purandaradasaji has said is’Komalangana nama aa velegodagado’It means: the name will not help at that time. What he means is ‘How many are lucky to be in full command of their senses when they depart? So recite the Ramanama now itself”You can get the the meaning when you get to know the meaning of the devaranama “Rama Rama Rama Seeta rama enniro”.By the way “odagado”means “not available”.Thank you.

Smt. Savitri : thank you very much for taking the trouble on explaining further.

I think one poster on forum likened it to advance booking - It is best to chant the Lord's name now while all the faculties are still intact. This came up in a discussion of possibly this or another song, can't recall.
