The supreme illusionist (mAyavan), the destroyer/killer (sUdanan) of the demon, madhu, is the one who stood (ninravan) bearing (tAngi) the mighty (mA) mountain (malai tanai), gOvardhhanagiri on his lovely/beautiful (kOlamigu) little finger (viral), the one who grew up (vaLarndavan) in (tanil) gOkul (gOkulam), caressed (konji) by the cowherds (gOpa) and cowgirls (gOpiyar)!

mazhalai mozhi pala pEsuvAn
suzhalum vizhi tanil kurumbu migavE
kuzhaivu migu veNNai vENDuvAn - mOhana muraLIdharan
This fascinating (mOhana) flute-player (muraLIdharan) will walk (naDandu) with a lovely (azhagu) gait (naDai), and will speak (pEsuvAn) a lot (pala) in honey (amudam)-soaked (tadumbiDum) prattle (mazhalai mozhi), and with mischief (kuRumbu) brimming (migavE) from his darting (suzhalum) eyes (vizhi tanil), he will ask/beg (vENDuvAn) for butter (veNNai) with an exceedingly (migu) melting look (kuzhaivu).

The cows (AvinangaL) come (vandiDa) leaping (tAvi), while the cooing (kUviDum) cuckoos (kuyil) forget (marandiDa) to coo (kUva) as the young (bAla) cowherd (gOpAlan) creates (isaippAn) nectar-like (amrita) music (gAnam) appropriate for the spring (vasanta) from his flute (pullAnkuzhal tanil) nestling close to his tender (pU) lips (idazh).
