This concert was part of the Ganesh Chaturti celebrations. For a late night Monday concert, this concert was very well attended by many rasikas and surprisingly many children too.I went in soon after the song in Nattai. She sang a few Hindi compositions as well in order to appease to the North Indian audience. My favourites were Binati Suno,Govardana Giridhara and the Tillana. The latter was rendered very beautifully.I heard the lovely Navaroz song on Lord Ganesha for the first time. Highlights were the extensive alapanas for the Purvikalyani/Gamakakriya song as well as for Bahudari. Her rendition of the kalpanaswarams in Gamakakriya were outstanding bringing out the beauty of the ragam.Jagadodharana was mesmerizing.
Kudos to the accompanying artists who provided excellent support and their respective thanis were applaudable. The organisers and the audience showed their appreciation by exhibting a standing ovation.

Re: Smt.Kiranavali Vidyasankar@Bharathiar Temple,PA,Sept 13,
It appears to be a composition of Swami Purushottamananda.

OK, Thanks. It is a Bharatiya temple, not Bharathiar temple as mentioned in the first post (now corrected) and the recent posts.

Wonder how Kesavapriya sounds--the composition by her brother which was in this rAgam.

Very sprightly and catchy - KV sang it at her San Diego concert two years ago, too.

Thanks Bilahari. Is the rAgam too a creation of her bro?

Although to me it sounded like Kuntalavarali,I was quite skeptical.I was later told it was Keshavapriya.Apparently Smt.Kiranavali announced that she's presenting Chitravina Ravikiran's composition 'Sarisamana' in his ragam Keshavapriya. I missed the announcement.I heard this ragam/composition for the first time.It was presented very well.
