shama-priyaji,I want to correct a couple of words in 'adahodalli makkalu'.
dEvaki hettaLande kAvalli and kicca nA gaDa nungidenante should be read as'HETTALANTE' "KAVALALI" AND "KICCINIM AGHA NUNGIDANANTE" I went thru cds of the song but it was sung as"kicca na gada nungidenante' Finally I got the correct phrase.Will post the meaning soon.Thank You

I want to clarify the meaning of a word in the line"kiccinim Aghana nungidenante"
Here the meaning of the word:nungidenante'=swallowed should not be taken literally.The rakshasa by name Agha
is the brother of Putani.He assumes the shape of a serpent. He enters Brindavan and opens his jaws which look like a cavern.The children enter this cave unknowing and are caught.Krishna comes to know this.He enters the cavern, increases his size and the serpent dies of suffocation.Then Krishna rescues the children.So the word "swallow "indicates the victory of Krishna over the rakshasa

This composition, where kRshNa complains to hi smother (instead of the other way around which is usual) reminds me of the song 'ammA ena kUDa ADuva makkaLu' where kRshNa complains to his mother how the other boys tease him (gEli) - in that one as well, he says, 'tAyi nInallavantE, itanukUDa tanDE allavantE' of yaSOdA and nanda .

It could very well be kiccana gaDa nungidanantE

The bhAgavata purAna has a story of kRSNa swallowing up a forest fire (kiccu)

gaDa may just be an onomatopoeic word to indicate the expediency or the effortlessness with which he swallowed the forest fire.
