Is item 1 jO jO SrI krShNa by any chance? I am not familiar with jo jo balakrishna.

Sreeni - can you please clarify?

In many of the haridAsa's compositions, they use the term 'gOpi' to specifically mean yaSOdA, and not the generic, cowgirls (as in 'bArE gOpi bAlakanaLuttAnE' or 'ninna kAlu kambakkE kaTTi pELuvE gOpigE' for example), and I think in these too, gOpi refers to yaSOdA 'The gOpi'! Is that right?

Interesting observation there! I had never thought about it. I need to look into this but my first thought is that I agree with your line of thought. I am reminded of another song 'mella mellane bandane, gOpamma kELe, nillade ODi hOdane, ..................'

I too checkd all my haridasa sahity books. As Sreeni sir said there is JoJo Srikrishna paramananda of Purandaradasa. That of Sripadaraya is Jo Jo Jo Jo Jo Rangadhama.

pratibhaji,I think I have heard this song in some old kannada mythological film,decades back.I can recollect a couple of lines too but they are disjointed."VAJRA MUTTINA THOTTILA KATTI JAAJI MALLIGE SARAPALIYA KATTI NAGASAMPIGE HOOGALA CHELLI NAALKU VEDAGALEMBA JOGULAVA PAADI" It was set in a light classical tune.

There are a couple of words needing alteration.in Gopiya bhagyavidu.text. "cendaraleleyanu' is to be read as "chendanu" "sadagarinda" is to be read as"sadagaradinda""taglidendittu" is to be read as"tagileetendittu" "dattane" is to be read as "thattane" "nivasili" is to be read as"nivaalisi" "emmayya" is, "emmaya"

Gopi is Yashoda whereas gopika refers to other ladies in Brindavan.In "mella mellane bandane" Yashoda is referred as"gopamma"I.The next line is "mellamellane bandu gallake muddu kottu nillade odi hoda kallage buddi hele." Yashoda replies in the last charana."Toogire Ragayyana baaleyare, dooranne tandiramma"Many devaranamas are there to confirm that gopi is Yashoda.

A small correction .'Raagayyana" should be read as"Rangayyana"It was a typing mistake.
