I wanted to find out if anyone has come across an audio on this varnam and where it could be located.

I was specially interested in original Jathi sequence as I assumed that the original Jathis is this song composed by Guru T.S.Kalyanasundaram Pillai would be a treat. Any advise is appreciated.

My teacher released a CD with this Varnam´s music, but i don´t know if the Jathis are the original ones by Guru Kalyanasundaram (she is a disciple of his). The name of the CD is Natyollasah. You can contact her at padmajasuresh@hotmail.com.

The song is sung beautifully in Natya Dwani CD vol 2 by Priyadarshini Govind but there is no Jathis in it. I was interested in locating the original jathis composed for this song. I thought the Jathis would be a pleasure to listen to based on the song.

As taught by my father Swamimalai Rajarathnam Pillai, it is Naathanai Azhaithu Vaa Sakhiye, composed by Tiruveezhimazhalai Kalyanasundaram Pillai. There was a documentary film on Bharathanatyam in which Kamala Lakshman has danced, my father has sung the varnam and my grand father Vazhuvur Ramiah Pillai has uttered his Jathis with his commanding voice which i remember to have seen about 30 years before in Doordharshan . I don't know whether it will be there in Doordharshan's Archives. We have recorded the audio of it,as we had only the cassette recorder at that time, and i shall try to upload it in mediafire and post the link here.

It is just broken bits of one margam and quite interesting to know the speed at which the items were performed during 1960s. My father would love to bring out his brigas at that speed, and when at a later stage in 1980s the scenario changed to slow pace numbers, he used to tell, he gets bored on the stage to sing them.
The latest audio recording from my daughter Nrithya Pillai's students' Arangetram on 28.5.2009 with Nrithya's Nattuvangam and Sushant's singing ....

Preyas I was able to listen to both of them.. the documentary audio has some disturbances but is still manageable!

The old music recordings are in audio cassetts and using free hiq recorder i convert and upload. Probably it will take more time for me to expertise in that. Please bear with me for the poor audio quality.

Madhan - Can you advice me what you used to listen to the download - for e.g. Windows Media Player, VCL etc. That would be an immense help in pointing me in the right direction of what to use to listen to the download.
