vs_manjuth..... Navarathri Wishes !!!
Thanks for the wishes. Heard Meenakshi Pancharatnam sung my M.S in Sunaada radio in the morning. May the Goddess shower her choicest blessing on all the rasikas with many more years of listening to wonderful and devine music.

Very best wishes to all!

:$ Every year I seem to ask somebody this and then forget it for the next year: which days are associated with which names/manifestions of the Goddess?

Manjunath - Some other navarAtri specials that pay homage to the supreme Sakti in her three main manifestations:
1) Sri Subramanya Bharati's 'mAtA parASakti' (rAgamAlikA) which starts with sarasvati (kalaimagaL), then lakshmi (alai magaL), and finally, pArvati (malai magaL)
2) Sri LGJ's introduction to jaya jaya devi (rAgamAlikA)
3) Madurai Muralidharan's composition (rAgamAlikA) that goes 'kalaigaLellAm tarum kalaivANi'

A classic and very famous AIR recording, the voice of legendary Birendra Krishna Bhadra, to the sound of conch shells, catching the flavor of Kolkata each year where millions and generations have woken up to this invocation of the Godess -- a hair-raising auspicious Mahalaya Mahishasuramardhini in Bengali and Sanskrit interspersed with songs by famous singers, announcing the commencement and worship of Navaratri. Each part is a gem and an experience if you haven't heard this before. Listen and watch spectacular images. Abridged versions reproduced on youtube by some kind soul.

Papanasan Sivan's "Unnai Allal" in Kalyani and especially the charanam- "nI ye mInakshi kAmakshi neelayathakshi " is an Xcelent song and the charanam ideally suited for nereval & swaraprastharam. DKJ has sung it very well.

1. "Pahimam Sri Rajarajeswari" of Maha Vaidyanatha Sivan is another song to this kitty. SSI's rendition is just superb !!! This raga Janaranjani has limited scope to expand. That's why we don't hear this raga taken for elabaoration.
Thyagaraja's 'vidajA ledura' in Janaranjani is a popular song for Nadaswaram.

2. Mysore Vasudevacharya's "Sri Chamundeswari Palayaamam" in Bilahari is an excellent song. MSS;KVN & NSG have sung this song.
Request Coolji/rasikas to U/L this song.

A treat. Beautiful Durga Sukhtam with visuals and a bonus prize from MSS, a gem for all time but especially for Navarathiri/Mahalaya.

Birendra Krishna Bhadra's Chandipath/Mahishasura Mardhini (links given in earlier posts) and MSS's Durga Pancharatnam sum up, capturing effectively the auspiciousness in the power of the Divine female form.

S-P : Thanks for all the Youtube uploads, although i need to watch them leisurely. Durga Suktham is rare, Sri/Purusha suktham is quite common.

These two might interest skris and cml - says rig vedic mantra - you can inform better on the accuracy and enunciation etc...on saraswati - medha sUktam ending with the gayathri for this devi.

This one sounds more Rig Vedic to me than the familiar brahmanical chants. Will await and defer to opinions/comments from skris and cml. (has a movie clip with a dance too - takes me into a space of a couple of centuries ago - makes me imagine this may be how devadasis performed ritualistically as hymns/prayers were said)

This one on Shiva I found fascinating as did some 200k plus viewers apparently.
