Nice of you to post a review of another vidushi. Quite a lot of heavy ragas in one concert (varAli,mAnji and begada) and if I am right even the neraval in chandrajyothi is quite rare. Kudos to the artist

But which line was taken up for neraval? I can't think of which line would fit! The caraNam's first line ends with a pApa, and the phalamu lEdanucu of the second line is essential for an acceptable meaning.

Maybe the pallavi itself?

pApa overflows into the samam of the next tAlam, and 'pApa-phalamu nIku tanaku lEdani' makes for a good neraval.

Interesting to note that Govardhana Giridhara has been tuned in Bindumalini - which is rare but a very melodious raga (usually this tranagam is sung in Darbari Kanada). Would like to hear this version if available anywhere ?

Thanks Rajeshnatji..This is Sandhya Dharani ( not Dharini.. )
I wanted to post abt the concert as i thought mutual encouragement is very essential among artists and also wanted to introduce the artists to you all The concert indeed was very good.

As Keerthi rightly pointed out, pApa phalamu would have been ideal for nearavl, Smt Srividaya chose AlanAdu Kauravula.....which was not ideal as far as sahithya was concerned.

The shokam was Vasudevakisutam Devam in ragas Kambhoji, Sahana and BindumAlini, and yes i too heard it first in BindumAlini as against the popular rendering in DarbAri kAnada.
