The penultimate 3 were compositions of Mahakavi Subramania Bharathiyar. She announced that today being his birthday she is singing some of his songs. Similarly she announced Kokilapriya (typo corrected) also as it is 11th melakarta and today being 11th.

Was happy I chose to drive all the way and came back immensely satisfied. Let us see how KBMK & RG do tomorrow @ BGS.

The RTP was in Kokilapriya (melakarta 11), not kokilavarali.

I've always felt that lots of artistes sing rare and interesting numbers in BGS. I have extremely fond memories of every single concert I've attended there.

SS used to sing a composition,MAle ninmEl in Kokilapriya earlier ( it may be a composition of her guru Dr.SR).Haven't heard for a very long time.

It was a very nice concert.. excellent Nasikabhushani , and Sahana. The swarams in Mara Vairi Ramani by the vocalist and violinist were very interesting , and made the presentation all the more exciting.
