Right from the start it was a grand affair. She opened with Varnam in two speeds and Sri varnam in two speeds always brings kalai to the concert. Kambhoji & Hindolam were just outstanding with Kambhoji lasting
for about an hour and RTP for about 40 minutes of overall 2 hours 50 mins. Violinist's repartee on the thanam were impressive and GV was clapping herself. Superlative voice, range and diction.

*1 - nereval where she started santhoshamuga and joined at anupallavi and each line of saranam.
*2 - online reference (rasikas.org) says it is saveri. But the song sounded joyous and peppy and somehow
I am not able to associate saveri with either of that. It sounded anandabhairavish to me.

This would definitely be "One of The Concerts" for this season.. This is
the second time I have gone for her live performance (last time it was in Nanganallur some time ago) and
both of them turned out to be just grand.

Guess violinist had tuned the violin to a higher kattai and so it sounded different (a bit harsh) to me and not the usual
mellifluous sound that I associate with violin.

Manojsiva & Guruprasad produced a energetic and enjoyable thani..
