MFAC secretary passes away

Post by tkb »

It is a sad news that Mr. K. S. Venkataramanthis, Secretary The Myalapore Fine Arts Club, passed away on Monday. I was shocked to see this message in The Hindu page 2 today and we as family express our sincere condolence to his family, near & dear.

I have to acknowledge the fact that Venkatraman sir was one of the very few who encouraged youngsters a lot and MFAC is one of the foremost in giving opportunities to budding vidwans. Whenever i went to MFAC i used to get rousing welcome by Shri KSV sir. for the past 8 or 10 years he has been calling me and asking me "Balaji evvlo concert MFAC la othundirukke". It so happened one year at MFAC i played about 5 concerts in the afternoon slots (about 2 in 1.30 and 3 in 3.00 pm slots). He was really amazed to see the demand for good accompaniment and then onwards he used to personally call me to find out how many have i accepted that particular year. Anyway after that i have been restricting myself to one or two at MFAC but i have maintained very nice relationship with sir and whenever i attend the evening concert he used to personally escort me to one of the front rows and make me seated, is a nice feeling i get about sir. One more important thing is whenever Thani avartanam is starting i have always found him in the first row or behind the stage listening to it, which is an admirable quality in him. As was mentioned in THE HINDU, he was always approachable and amenable.

Condolences to the bereaved.

Very very sad news. Among all the sabhas , to a great extent the merit of candidate is considered and I have not seen a very noticable out of turn promotions in general, perhaps all the credit should go to Shri KS Venkataraman . I have seen this gentleman(shri KS Venkataraman) and talked with him too.( may be what I talked with him I will write bit later).

Here is the link that came up in today's paper:

Heartfelt condeolenses to the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace.
He went to the hospital two months back as his fever was not subsiding. Later he had a paralytic attack on one side but after 15 days, he was recovering. I wonder what went wrong after he recovered. He was quite young. Sad news.
