I went when Sabapathikku was coming to end. Apparently he sang a varnam before that one. Anyone else that attended can fill in that detail. A concert that stood out for its sowkyamana soothing music.
Expected him to take Amba Vaani, but Kaligiyunte it was for Keervani
I felt he could have taken maalum ayanum paniyum instead of the usual maanikkam for nereval. However, the unhurried neraval at manikkam vairam kambhoji was just a grand treat. A round of half avartanam swaras ending in ga gaa in lower stayi and the final bursting into the higher stayi stood out for its beauty. Overall he sang the song in a leisurely tempo with clear enunciation of words and it enhanced the beauty overall. The sahana earlier had no alapana, swaras et al. but all the same it sounded just grand.
Violin was just a perfect foil for him and her repartees to the half avartana swaras in Kambhoji
were great.
Manoj & Purushottaman played an engaging tani. It was good to hear and didn't make one feel like
when will it end
The team deserved a standing ovation and they got one. Very low exodus during thani as well.
Saw Ranjani, the round faced sister (or is it Gayatri) & Amruta Murali in the audience.
